DJ + Amateur Photographer
If I wasn't a Wedding DJ, I would definitely pursue Photography full time. My entire life I've always been a shutter bug and have loved how a still image can tell the most elaborate story. Currently, while I've been lucky enough to collect some great professional photography tools, I still only pursue it as a hobby. However, if it is OK with the Bride, Groom, & Photographer, I am known to lug my 6D to a Wedding from time to time.
I think it's important for Wedding DJ's to remember, while you are going to directly help to create some amazing memories, the photographs are how they will be remembered. For this very reason, the photographer is an essential part of your performance. At the start of an event I always reach out to the photographer to give them a copy of my timeline, and to make sure I know what they expect from me. As a Wedding DJ you really function as a day of coordinator. It is important to ensure that everyone is ready for the next part of the celebration, which does include making sure the Father of the Bride isn't in the bathroom when you announce for him to escort his Daughter to the dance floor, but also that the photographer is setup and ready to capture that moment.
Unless otherwise noted, I have personally taken every photograph that I use on my Website. Below please find some of my other photographs that I've captured throughout my travels.
